Don, we've just come back from the Viaduct Basin where Katana, Larry Ellison's beautiful boat, is moored having had a cruise around the north-east.

Both the sponge and Katana are new to Hobbitland, but Katana is much more attractive. Katana means sword in Japanese.

There are crowds of people, with the Round the World Volvo yacht race boats now in port. America's Cup competitors are also active. There is not much evidence at all of the great financial panic of 2002 down in the village here. There was music, dancing and a great summer atmosphere.

It's interesting that Oracle does database stuff and is in the process of creating cyberspace and Larry's boat's the biggest and flashest in town, apart from an enormous cruise ship around at Princes Wharf a couple of hundred metres away; Legend of the Seas cruisecritic.com

It was interesting standing gazing at Katana and hearing the many comments as people came along to gawp. Huge and beautiful are two of the more common comments.
