jk,

Only motherboards I know that works with the registered buffered dimms are dual cpu amd-mp ones made by tyan. Don't buy the registered buffered dimms --- they don't work with almost every mobo.

Normal ddr is cheaper, eg : ddr 512MB normal=112, registered=159.

256MB rimm is not 72 today, it is 62, which makes the comparison more like :

512MB :

rimm=2*62=124 (pc-800? though it doesn't say)
ddr=1*112=112 (pc-2100)

Here's where you can get retail prices for these guys.
