The beauty of message boards is everyone can have an opinion.

The problem with state sanctioned suicide, is where does it end? If we start allowing allowing doctors to euthanize upon request, what is next? Someone comes in a ER that is in a coma from let's say a car wreck. Let's say they do not have insurance. Is their life worth saving. Will the bottom line become a factor? Afterall money IS money. Do the doctors become God and decide who lives and who dies? Once you open that can of worms, imagine what it would lead to.

I believe in natural laws as well as moral absolutes. Some things are better left to God. I speak from experience. I had a brother that lived in a wheelchair for 10 years, partly because of cocaine addiction, paralyzed from the neck down. He is now dead. The doctors used all of their capabilities to keep him alive for 10 years. So I do know what it is to see a loved one suffer.

Once we allow people to choose Dr. assisted suicide, you can bet that allowing Dr's to choose who lives and who dies will be next. Think about it. Baby boomers are reaching retirement age and there are alot of them. These same babyboomers will eventually become a burden on the system. Sorry, but I do not wish to have my or my parents life decided by a corporate minded Dr. Some things are better left to God.

This is just my opinion though.
