Dear Jagfan: I agree, SPURRIER was the single most important thing that happened at U of F in my lifetime. He took a school with basically no reputation in athletics or academics and PUT IT ON THE MAP. My sone went to U OF F because of him, not because my son was a football player but because the school had such a great reputation. EVERYONE wants to associate with a WINNER. Now, Fla. is among the top Academically as well as Athletically. His contribution to that was INCALCULABLE. I hope that you are right and that Stoops takes the job. jdn
