RBOCs are probably the future, but I don't expect much growth there.

RBOCs are going to be under constant attack, just like they were by the CLECs/DLECs. They have a vested interest in slowing down advances in technology (ROI on current infrastructure) which then puts them at a competitive disadvantage. If you buy the idea that there is value in having all communications sources being integrated (voice, video, data), then RBOCs are not positioned well at all. For the last mile stuff, I believe that the Cable companies are going to win in the long term. They have a constant cashflow that can fund the infrastructure enhancements and the current copper infrastructure can get them much further than the RBOC's twisted pair infrastructure. Personally, I would bet against the RBOCs for the long term.
