Reagan did not win the cold war, the Soviet Union would have collapsed if a monkey was President by 1991. Reagan created the biggest wage and wealth disparity gap in many years during his term and he also created a massive debt load, buying a few good years by blowing the future. That is my take and his offering. As for the Hitler thing, the point is that evil people can be as charming as those well intentioned and glad handing and doing voodoo economics and cheerleading provide limited results.
