Hi. Unless you want to upgrade to Windows XP, you might want to stick with one 256MB module. The auction you are looking at is for RDRAM. Most all of the recent AMD motherboards use DDR (a different type of memory) and you can add one at a time.

If you want, you can try just one of the DDR 256MB modules for $90 (shipping included).

Most AMD motherboards can use either ECC or non-ECC. Most default to non-ECC.

Thank you for your email and best regards,

.

This is a Dutch auction. That is, you can bid on only one if that is all you need or bid on more if you need more than one.

Your amd-cpu motherboard probably supports either ddr or sdr or both. Look at the slots for memory. If it has two notches, it takes PC133. If it has one notch, it takes pc2100 or pc1600 ddr. pc2100 is cheaper and should be backwards compatible. Your fsb probably is running at 200MHz though, indicating an older cpu.

Our machines are running linux. For some tools that do not have a linux version, we run win2K.

The 512MBs are quite common and we've had many flavours that all work. However, some mobos do not even support 1.5GB.

As for claims of support, don't believe general claims unless the website has a page that states explicit compatibility with the exact manufacturer 1GB dimms.

We sat on 3 unreturnable 1GB ddr dimms by kingston for two weeks until someone suggested tyan.
