If you replace the word monetary with money and look back to the 19th century you have a period where the metal in coinage was worth more than the exchange value transaction was in the market.

Monetary inflation occurred due to the tie to a commodity.

In this period also the debt was to high in the case of the farmers their agriculture products were worth less so the ability to repay the debt was not there the end result of this period was the depression.

Like cancer there are many forms of inflation and like cancer which is a generic term for unregulated cell growth, there is no generic antidote.

How does my statement which does imply that there are various forms of inflation and does imply that under economic conditions which are actually deflationary, inflation can flourish, imply that all kinds of inflation aren't primarily monetary?
