Daschle is a very ambitious person who would like to be President and will put his personal interests ahead of the country's interests, IMHO.
My main criticism of the Bush regime right now is that they are still way too friendly with Saudi Arabia even after 15 out of 19 of the hijackers were shown to be Saudis. Also, Saudis spend buckets of money on terrorist organizations all over the world and are one of(if not the) most repressive regimes in the world. Unfortunately, I think that both Bush and Cheneys's ties to the oil industry blind them to some of the inconsistencies in their policies. They have too many friends and supporters who benefit from Saudi oil money. Eventually, it will come back to bite them and us, IMO.
