That news release said they were going to go back in.From a conversation at the Annual meeting it was stated that the casing was not set low enough.Remember this was one of the last wells UPR drilled and it was never connected to any line and was never produced comercially.It was production tested and then shut in.Now I am told that the casing was not deep enough.
Apparently the solution will correct this by setting smaller sized casing inside the original casing and deeper to solve the problem.Once the integrity of the drill hole is insured and cleaned you are right Bob.This will make a very big difference.Remember it was pushing over 11000 PSI at the wellhead when it was choked back on a 5/64 choke and still produced over 700bbls of oil and 1.5MMcf of gas/day...I can only imagine once they get this rectified.
