Second, it is much, much more that just "register of ownership". It is the ultimate in the security industry. When you stick your card into the ATM, there's already a germ of CA in the dialogue, doing first of all steps the mutual autentication. "Is this really an ATM or is somebody trying to screw me up?" and "Is this a real card or [...dito..]". Expand that over the world and you got a problem of the certifying authority. The iris and/or fingerprint etc - fine, but who's running them? Do you trust them? If yes,why so? If not, why so and what's the alternative? If they say, you're not Mq, who do you go and appeal to? If they say, DJ is on the other side of the line, and it's actually Alice, who pays for the damages... Etc
