John, Anand pointed out that he used the patched version.

Petz, Re: I suspect Content Creation Winstone 2002 still uses the the buggy benchmark program (Windows Media Encoder?) which improperly tests the manufacturer name before enabling SSE.

Good point. This certainly applies to the Sysmark 2001 benchmark differences but I am not sure about CC Winstone 2002. According to Xbitlabs the latter uses among other applications "Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 7.01.00.3055, which was absent by the previous benchmark version." If I am not mistaken WME 7.0 was the buggy version that didn't detect Athlon XP's SSE extension. Maybe version 7.01 has fixed that but I am not sure.

Edit: Looks like Anand has the same problem with that benchmark. "The addition of Windows Media Encoder to the benchmark foray increases the stress on the processor and memory subsystems however we are not 100% sure as to whether or not this build of WME takes advantage of the Athlon XP's SSE instructions or not." (http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1574&p=5) If it's not activated the Athlon XP would win this benchmark too with a proper SSE implementation.
