I guess Bloomberg is OK, but I can't help but wonder how things might have played if his primary opponent, Hernan Badillo, had gotten the nomination. The mayor of NYC becomes a national figure and here we had a Puerto Rican Republican we could have had in the spotlight. I thought the GOP was trying to reach out to Spanish speaking people.
Its true that Bloomberg won the primary fair and square, but the party appparatchicks got behind Bloomberg early on, they didn't even consider Badillo. I think they blew a great opportunity.
