It is in the most beautiful area of Baltimore, actually, and since the '70s, the downtown has improved a lot. As for John Waters, fond as I am of him, he has not "defined Maryland" any more than Spike Lee has "defined New York" in "Do the Right Thing", "Crooklyn", or "Clockers. They each have their milieu......
