supply and demand....you guys all forgot the basic rule of econ..

if the price of hte handset goes down or even the cost of thehandset to the carrier,then either more consumers will buy them at full unrebated price or the carrier can afford to sell alot more of them at lower prices. If volume goes up double, but ASP goes down 25%, then which makes mroe money?

and if the price falls intot he consumer break evenpoint,then perhaps this goes intothings like Gameboys and PDAs for alot lower prices. Hence the market share goes up.
