I have a feeling the low-end model will remain for at least nine months, through another education season. And possibly longer if Apple can't get the low-end flat screen down to $999 by next Christmas.

With G4 stocks low I would think a major upgrade is coming within the month.

I'm liking this iMac more than i did last night and I like how Steve explained all the thinking behind it. I'd prefer black, I think. Of course they can do that easily in the future.

I am greatly impressed with the price points on the iMacs. And remember, the lowest end iMacs were always the poorest sellers.

My QT stream improved partway through--others must have given up "freeing" the "airwaves." If I wait until tomorrow to view the archived stream it will look fine so it is likely a server problem.

I'm pleased with how the stock held up. I sold (the buy that I posted here) for $23.25 today. About 13%. Still long with other shares, some dating back to early summer 1997.

Btw, it seems the keynote was moved up a day just to accomodate Time magazine. Getting the cover is amazing.

Marc

imagine if they had thier own proprietary fuel, and you had to drive across town to get filled up

Macs and PCs run on the same "fuel": blank CD-Rs, internet, ethernet, USB and firewire. OS-centric thinking is so 1993...
