wbmw, the 2.2 NW does NOT beat the XP2000+ in most benches, it beats it in quite a few but not most. Most would imply the vast majority but I think they may be split 60/40 at this point.

Most means greater in number. 51/49 would be most.

Constantine, Re: "the 2.2 NW does NOT beat the XP2000+ in most benches"

Here's my tally at Anand's (if the difference is less than 2%, it is a tie - would you agree?).

Winstone 2002: Tie
SysMark 2001 Overall: Pentium 4 by 3.8%
AutoCAD Total Index: Athlon XP by 4.4%
Maya Rendering: Tie
3D Studio Rendering: Athlon XP by 3.0%
Mpeg4 Encoding: Penitum 4 by 6.2%
MP3 Encoding: Tie
Quake III: Pentium 4 by 7.8%
WTCW: Pentium 4 by 2.0%
Serious Sam: Athlon XP by 17.1%

Pentium 4 wins four tests, while the Athlon XP wins 3, and 3 are a tie. It's a close match, but the Pentium 4 wins.

From Tom's Hardware (again, less than 2% means a tie).

Quake III: Pentium 4 by 4.6-14.5%
3DMark 2000: Athlon XP by 2.2%
3DMark 2001: Tie
LAME MP3: Pentium 4 by 3.0%
FlasK Mpeg: Pentium 4 by 7.3%
Sandra Dhrystone: Athlon XP by 6.5%
Sandra Whetstone: Pentium 4 by 17.0%
Sandra Integer MMX: Tie
Sandra FP SIMD: Athlon XP by 6.5%
Sandra Memory: Pentium 4 by 62.1-96.5%
Lightwave 7b: Pentium 4 by 56.1%
SysMark 2001: Tie
Linux Compile: Athlon XP 13.4%
Data Compression: Pentium 4 by 7.7%
Lightscape OpenGL: Penitum 4 by 4.8%
Mpeg2 Encoding: Pentium 4 by 8.1%
Cinema4D: Pentium 4 by 6.4%
Cinema4D: Athlon XP by 6.1%

Pentium 4 wins 10 tests, while the Athlon XP wins 5, and 3 are a tie. It seems that Pentium 4 wins more definitively, here.

Anyway, there are more reviews, and I'm sure you can find the same result. The Pentium 4 wins the majority of the tests every time.
