Dashle responded to Bush's comment that the Democrats would not raise taxes. If federal
taxes are not increased, federal programs will be cut. State governments will not receive
help from the feds so the state budgets will suffer. The state governments will
have to cut programs or raise state taxes, sales tax and property tax to keep the state
government afloat.

Bush and Rumsfeld want to throw a lot of money at the military. The military has been doing
just fine. Look at how well they performed in Afghanistan. We need money for other programs.
The state governments need money. Our property and sales taxes are too high.

If people don't want their taxes raised, they had better let Bush know because he
spent the government surplus with his irresponsible tax cut last summer. Therefore,
we will all suffer in one way or another.

The United States is in debt! Bush and the Republicans have forced us to dip into our future:
the social security fund!
