Don, I certainly don't hold myself up as an economist. Your suspicion of a book accepted by public schools gave me a laugh, especially since some of the southern states are now objecting to inclusion of theory of evolution
in public curriculum. I merely included that note as a fact that might dissociate Smith's books from the like of GATA material about which I maintain a degree of skepticism, a skepticism I bring to bear on any theory of vast conspiracy. Most people talk too much for any real conspiracies to remain secret by defintion for very long. Prof
Smith also had a book on the Forbes alternate recommended list for awhile if that means anything. I don't know. I read his book and was incensed at the repeated facts of social security fragility and repeated "pledges" from both sides of the aile to "save" it. Save it my ass, American politicians are more and more transparent the longer I live and breathe to be vacuous and self-serving, voting for themselves what they will not vote for the rest of us, hence my leaning toward Jay's agnostic self-preservation Weltbild. Wish it were different. So enough of Professor Smith from me as I do not want to further flatulate this thread. There has been a lot of beans in diets around here, I suppose...Pythagorus admonished us not to eat beans. Wonder why.

PS Maurice Winn would accuse me of getting a cut on the book if he were around here today so that means
I may have to cut him a deal. Kinda pathetic, ain't it? He is going to be SO rich off of Qualcomm you'd think he would not need to gouge me (TIC)
