just got my latest email from Dell; they're offering $200 rebates and free DVD drives on the 8200 series desktop (which is a +/- $1100-$1400 unit).

business must be rocking, and they're offering me $200 off just to thank me for my loyal patronage (i think i bought a PC from them like 2 years ago ;^)

AOL will take a one-time charge in Q1 of $40-$60 bln to reflect overall market declines since the AOL Time Warner merger was announced in Jan '00
