One of Byron Wien's fearless predictions: The U.S. is not yet ready for tough love!<G>

That might not bode well for the zinger Wien places as No. 10 this year: Enron Corp.'s collapse will trigger a wave of populism that gives Democrats ``decisive control'' of Congress. Among high- profile casualties of the change in mood would be Attorney General John Ashcroft, who is forced to resign after attacking Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings for ``weakening the religious foundations of the country.''

Ashcroft will go out saying the country ``didn't understand his brand of `tough love,''' Wien predicts.
