You wrote all those nice things but then this stuck in my brain:

fresh squeezed orange juice with pulp...

I prefer my orange juice to be pulp free.

It would have ruined my whole vacation... <vbg>

Glad I missed it.

<kiddin' of course...>

Now it sounds like you had fun!
Nice descriptions. It was excellent.
I could almost see it, smell it, taste it, feel it, and hear it.

I don't regret our decision to stay though.
It seems like a fair trade off.
For my wife and her grandmother, it was all those things
you wrote and more.
We really enjoyed being with her.
We gave her a gift that she'll remember for the rest of her life.
One that we'll remember for the rest of our lives, certainly.

We brought her the only smiles she has had in two years.

She had been so depressed for such a long time.
For the first time in two years she actually laughed. Laughed
hard.
She danced.
She told stories.
She played with the kids.
She released a lot of her frustrations by communicating them
with us when others were tired of listening.
She got exercise.
She ate food. Good food. Not just the depressing assisted living
cafeteria type of food.
She gave instructions and taught my wife some of her cooking
secrets for making those Italian foods...
She felt important.
She had something to look forward to each day.
The great-granchildren's energy rubbed off on her.
She got out of her wheel chair and walked all the way down the
length of her long depressing hallway and followed us to the building
exit with tears of happiness and joy welled up in her eyes as we said
goodbye not knowing if we'd ever see each other again.
At least that was the feeling we got as she touched our hands, hugged
us hard and long, and kissed our faces.

...and we got to drink pulp free orange juice each morning.
