if I had an account on the JSE, a few of those puts to hedge a possible decline might not be such a bad idea ... OTOH, I don't think price is so neatly related to supply like he suggests ... the depreciation of the rand explains a good part of the move -- that he has right, I think.

i don't think he's done his math very well... the rand was a gift, the dollar price will be the reward.
