Are there such things as "false prophets"? Have their been spiritual charlatans through the ages? How do we distinguish the genuine article from the pretenders? The "gold standard" throughout history has been the death test. The "real deal" defies death. The rest do not.

Leonard Orr has suggested that death represents a sort of demarcation line between spiritually mature and immature entities. See amazon.com for further details. Real "Seventh Stage" beings are immortal. The inability to break what Orr calls the "death habit" shows that this stage has not been achieved. Obviously, very few beings known to history are even claimed to have passed this test. Jesus and Babaji are the only ones I can think of offhand.

So I am curious about Adi Da's thoughts on this subject, especially as it applies to him personally.
