I used to have Byzantium claims in Lemuria. When roasted, the mineral Byzantium would reduce to a calcine of gold, silver, ruby, the purest silicon, flagstone and some miscellaneous edible hydrocarbons. We used to make jewelry out of the gold and silver, lasers from the ruby, microchips from the silicon and pave the driveway with the flagstone. Afterwards we could feed the dog with what was left over. Those were the days. When Lemuria sank some of the guys on the park benches woke up when their beds floated east and bumped up on the shores of North and South America. As far as I can tell they just dragged the benches inland a piece and they are still there. Thor Heyerdahl has the story, the Voyage of the Ra.
