Necon, Even though this information came to me second handed, and he seems to be all sweetness on the air, listen to how he will correct a contestant's pronunciation, and watch the sneer on his face as he does so. To me, it appears that he has some sense of superiority that may not have been earned. My belief is that he was in the right place, at the right time, when the job on Jeopardy came open. I am sure you know of the few other second rate game shows he hosted prior to Jeopardy, and he was going nowhere until Merv Griffin hired him for the big time. IMO, the stars of the show are the contestants that never cease to amaze me with the depth, and scope, of their intelligence.
