JC:I dunno. 25% for the second highest speed grade of a first stepping of a new process doesn't seem all that bad. Do you think AMD will do any [or much] better when the Tbred first comes out?

It would not surprise me if Thoroughbred only overclocked 25%. As we all know, there will be diminishing returns with decreasing feature size. So back to Northwood, this observation alone would not worry me. But I'm looking at the whole picture:

1) decreased overclock potential after shrink compared to previous architectures (according to Ed S. whose opinion I respect - esp. in this area)
2) 3 month delay of introduction
3) Low apparent availability
4) Tcase = 69 deg. C (per Ali)
5) Relatively tight voltage tolerances, again compared to historical (Vcc_typ = 1.5, Vcc_max = 1.55, Vcc_maxmax = 1.75 V.)
