I think you need to check the double-story angle again. They probably tell you that the long range scenario is feasible, but that's not the scenario that is being proposed. There's more deception in the SDI lobbying than in a decade's back issues of spy-vs-spy.

Neocon, if the Missile Shield is so easy and feasible, why did the Navy abondon their limited ship defense shield as being too hard. Seems it would be a lot easier to defend a battle group of ten or so ships than the whole US mainland from missile attack. As Tigerpaw said the NMD is a boondoggle and will never work, beside ballistic missiles are less of a threat than piper cubs flying in Tampa.
