Apparently you didn't. There is nothing inconsistent in what I have stated. The Taliban did not exist in the 1980's. As a force they were a creature of the ISI. Pakistan helped the US supply the Mujaheedin under General Zia. Zia was assassinated and soon that woman took over. The one who will be sent to prison if she ever returns - Bhutto. I believe the ISI became a rogue under her. ISI backed the overthrow of the Mujaheedin in the 1990's with the Taliban. Pakistan and Iran were vying for control of our favorite "stan".
