Tony - Re: ". For all of capital spending to have hit 7.5 Billion last year, must have been a lot of land and buildings stuff done last year also, as well as equipment. "

Right on.

The land and buildings have been built for many fabs but the equipment purchase/installation will continue as the new fabs ramp up - and even newer fabs are started.

The big manufacturing push continues.

This will most likely come out at the CC next week, as Andy B. put off questioners about it in Oct., Nov., maybe December too. It will probably be seen as a negative (if true) for the equip industry, although SSB says the equip part would be just "slightly down", in their opinion of course. For all of capital spending to have hit 7.5 Billion last year, must have been a lot of land and buildings stuff done last year also, as well as equipment. I assume Tenchusatsu has his new office in and decorated (laments of cubes to follow).

I'm sure that a lot was spent on land and/or buildings, but I doubt many of those buildings are offices... I think Intel killed office construction in favor of fabs with maybe one or two exceptions...
