Weisberg concedes the main point, which is that he is a great wartime president. His other gyrations are less interesting. For example, he compares Bush to FDR, and calls FDR "brilliant", which puts me in mind of Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.'s assessment of FDR: "First rate temperament, second rate mind". Holmes, who, need it be said, was much smarter than Weisberg, seems to have thought the same of FDR that Weisberg is now arguing of Bush.......

Not mentioned is that Bush did not turn the return of the spy plane crewmen from China into a photo-op media event, which I believe says a great deal about his character.
