From your answer to Fingolfen, I thought you were talking about the 1GHz Pentium III, which typically gets outperformed by the Pentium 4 1.5GHz. I would tend to think that the 1.4GHz Pentium 4 would be a great performer (especially due to the extra cache), but I can see a 1.8-2.0GHz Willamette being able to outperform it, let alone the newer Northwood processors. Maybe Tom's Hardware will do a review, and we can find out how it performs. I think you are way off about your assumption, though (and by a long shot, too).
