Let's just remember that the main reason there is a bubble in the US is because of the flawed economic policies of the rest of the world (overall).

Were there economies out there which were able to provide the liquidity, transparency, and security of the US markets, this bubble in the USD would not be occurring.

But we were the only piston in the global economic engine that wasn't knocking at the time (1998). The rest of the "pistons" have been relying upon the US to "pull them along" as they economically misfired, and all the "gas" flowed to American shores as capital flight.

Of course, now we're seeing difficulty in the US economy as the rest of the world has dragged us down we're beginning to stagger and we're "lugging" (or more appropriately, they got us so drunk they were able to pick our pockets in order to prop up their own economies... :0). But though we're seeing a few wisps of "blue smoke" now, the Japanese are going to "change our oil" with some special lube and provide us that quick fix until we can manage the global "overhaul"...

And here we all thought you couldn't compare mechanics to economics... :0)
