For informational purposes, here is the status of the portfolio as of 1/1/02 before adding any of this year's trades. Note that the ending cash balance on 12/31/2001 ($891,465) is equal to the beginning cash balance as of 1/1/2002. Also note that to close the books for 2001 and provide a correct starting point for this year's return, I marked the cost of each open position to the price as of 12/31/2001. The original purchase prices for these securities are stored in last year's spreadsheet and I will be happy to post them if anybody wants to know. The fact that the cash balance carried over properly verifies that the beginning portfolio balance and cost for each security are correct. If anyone sees an error please let me know as I am going to add this year's trades soon. I hope the new format lines up and is agreeable to everyone. Thanks, and suggestions are welcome!
