Great post CH. I think perhaps a distinction could be drawn between the bombing which typified the "Blitz" and the bombing the US did to wear down Japan's industrial capacity. But either way, in a war civilians will die.

Torture yes. Burning people alive is one of the most horrible if not the most horrible torture methods available to the human race, and believe me, we burned many people alive both innocent and non-innocent in Japan and Germany. You did say millions. Message 16876962
As for comparing the worth and value of an innocent Japanese life against an American one, I am not willing to even consider such a racist way of thinking. Let us just say that I am proud of our troops both now and back then, but I am definitely not proud of the way we won the war with Japan....
