I'm going here in a few days

tradewindsresort.com

going to hook up with a motley crew -vbg-

St Pete has fort Desoto Park, it's and island off of the end of a peninsula. when you get to the end of the island you can go to an inlet beach, and then walk several hundred yards across about 3 to 5 feet of water and then hit this Gulf beach which is really nice. You can not see anything but the island behind you when you get in the water.

I out in the gulf water a few years ago, out about 100 feet from shore at this beach...the water hardly drops off. I look up and this big thing is coming up about 15 feet away. I freaked big time for about a second, but I realized it was a Manatee but it still was a real trip.

When I was at the Pacific Ocean beaches in Sydney and was out body surfing I'd look around underwater ever once in a while.....looking for sharks.
