Susan: I agree with the bullflag comments. You can make a nice living trading bull or bear flags exclusively. One of the reasons the shorts often get trapped, and this is supposition only, is because they anticipate what they think (hope?) will happen....a deadly sin in my thin book. I think too that looking at longer time frames is very helpful in getting a better perspective of what really going on...it's similar to viewing a photo taken at 3-feet and then viewing the same scene at 30 or 50 feet; the picture may not be as sharp, the resolution may be diminished, but more can be seen. The former may be the "trees", the latter the "forest."
