In that case your DSL connection must be acting as a local proxy and DNS server, otherwise your computers wouldn't know each other's address. Can you check its settings?

Good guess but that's not it either. The home computers know one another via Microsoft's home networking software; they have no idea what the IP addresses of each other are. They have only one IP address and that's the new one assigned to them each time they log back on via the DSL.
