May be you should ask ERICY and Nokia these questions 5 years ago.

At that time, Tero was a smart kid for promoting Nokia. Right? He was the most objective analyst of the whole world according to you now.

China's GDP was even lower than now. Oops! China now becomes the largest cell phones market in the world.
Yet some people question China's huge market. What is wrong with this picture? Surprise and Ironic. eh?

Yet Nokia and ERICY and the rest of top companies continue to invest million and million dollars to China now. What is wrong with these companies? One may question. Why do they not invest in Italy instead?

Either those companies exec. were and are not smart or ........ What do you think?

Here is a map to show you again. Korea (South (47 million people) and North) vs. China.

Fly to China and see it yourself. It still does not cost much.

Mucho:

FWIW, this article posted on the moderated thread quotes some initial prices for CDMA handsets in China:

... Today's Beijing Youth Daily reported that only three models were available at the China Unicom outlets in Beijing, from Motorola Inc, Qingdao Hai'er and Hisense, priced at between 2,350 and 4,500 yuan.

Message 16881325

Those prices translate into $285-$545. Sounds high to me, and certainly at the high end of the range I posted earlier for GSM handsets.
