Well, forced was not the correct word. What happened was that they entrapped him and then asked him a question that anyone would lie to as an answer because supposedly no one could prove it was a lie. If you had a one night fling and then the next day were asked in front of your wife if you had illicit sex the day before, you would say no, if there was no way to prove otherwise. They entrapped him into lying about private sex and this is stooping lower than his act.
