there certainly was an excess inventory. CSCO wrote down a huge chunk too. However, they didn't steamroll the stuff if you remember. The other part of the equation is that there is still a fair amount of secondary market selling going on from businesses that have failed. This won't cut into the sales to big customers, but it will absolutely affect sales to small and medium enterprises.
