Yep. Al Gore's Apollo SPace Program, aka Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles, is a complete and dismal failure.

Gasoline has been about a dollar for twenty years. Certainly it cannot remain so indefinitely. One thing is for sure, a alternative fuel source will have to be competitive to replace gasoline. So many things can be made from oil that it seems a waste to just burn it. Research for alternate energy is quite worthwhile with numerous potential benefits.

Demonstrating the pathetic results of mandated fuel economy standards backed by left wing environmentalists.

Their systems analysis was deeply flawed and people simply threw out their station wagon's and purchased SUV's.

Had they not enacted mandatory fuel efficiency standards, the SUV may never have been built, and station wagons would probably be averaging 25mpg today.
