Have you ever heard of the Spanish Flu epidemic?

Yes, and smallpox, and the plague and other major flu epidemics or other diseases. None of them came close to wiping our species out. There are billions of us, and we exist on every continent. An asteroid or large comet could wipe us out. It just possible that a full scale nuclear war could. But the threads we are hanging on to are not to slender.

Yeah maybe but better to be safe than sorry. It would be no real loss to the world to send them back to the desert and let them fight each other instead of us.

Could you expand on what you mean by "send them back to the desert"?
