bigger govt funding required for fuelcells
start with $20B per year and no influence on framework
just a board to deal with standards
with tons of grants to leading players
and tons of subsidies to viable alternative products
the new cars and hybrids are still to cost $10-15k more

the $1.5B for combustion engine research should be increased 10-fold at least as it is directed toward fuelcell technology

opportunities exist for fuelcell makers
for fuel providers
for the infrastructure
I still think liquid hydrogen-rich fuels will carry the day
and take full advantage of nationwide network of filling stations

either way, gonna be 2010 before anything substantial happens in this new direction
watch BigOil stymy the effort
watch Detroit pay lipservice
too much investment in old world
