Samsung Raises DRAM Price by 30 Pct.
January 10, 2002 (SEOUL) -- After Hynix Semiconductor Inc. recently raised its memory chip prices to meet rising demand, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. followed suit and raised its DRAM price by 30 percent.

The semiconductor industry said Samsung raised the price for fixed-line customers by about a third. This is the third price increase for the Korean chip giant since early December 2001.

Demand for DRAM chips has been on a speedy rise recently.
