I said "equivalent", not "equal". They are different manifestations of each other. They are interconvertable. A particle and antiparticle colliding are converted to pure energy. Two photons (electromagnetic energy) colliding can convert to a particle (mass).

c = 3*10^8 m/sec
and
E = m*c^2
