There is no reason that autos with combined electric and fossil fuel
engines getting 80 or 100 miles per gallon cannot be available in a year. This tactic is sometimes called letting
the perfect become the enemy of the good. Just because a potentially better technology may be better in the
future is no reason to abandon good technology today.

An 80 mile per gallon car has the potential to dramatically reduce the amount of oil needed for transportation.
This would place the Halliburton and Carlisle oil services in jepardy. That is the real point."
