Well, some people have been saying that it's the obvious choice (NEM) for any mutual fund manager who wants to add a gold stock. One anecdotal thing: I got called recently by some young person at Quick and Reilly who wanted to make sure I wasn't investing unwisely (they are trying to tranform themselves from a discount brokerage into something more impressive, causing their best local brokers to bail out and go to work elsewhere). Anyway, this guy seemed to approve of my holding gold stocks. So maybe they are coming back into fashion.
