so you are looking at apx. 9 months of trading sessions @ apx 21 sessions per month = 189 trading sessions.

Of those apx 189 sessions, only 13 had reversals similar to today... that's less than 10% or 1 in 10.

Based on that rationale, if it is close to correct, I'd have to say that today's reversal was not that common of an occurence fwiw.

I said 10 - 15 (guess) -- looks like you got 13. I think if you limited it to days that didn't gap, but started near the close of the prior day -- up at least 1.5% and then closed red -- you might have fewer, no?
