SPS Tech says to close plant, sees 4th quarter loss
JENKINTOWN, Pa., Jan 9 (Reuters) - Aerospace materials manufacturer SPS Technologies Inc. (NYSE:ST - news) on Wednesday said it would close a Salt Lake City plant and further cut its work force, for a total of 800 job layoffs in 2001..................

Say what! 26,000 jobs?? That could be close to 40,000 if you add the domino effect of their suppliers. This is not good at all. IMO, we are heading for a consumer recession the likes nobody has ever seen before. A consumer that is toped out in debt and without a job. Good luck folks. We'll need it.
